I don't know why, but I have the feeling you have just jumped down from your horse to hug your mother who has been away for a while. In your other life, were you a movie star? Maybe a friend of Liz Taylor in National Velvet? Go figure, where do these thoughts come from?

It is a beautiful picture of two beautiful women.

Hugs, bevAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6316617410436977874.post-89203842308391323482010-12-04T08:54:01.475-05:002010-12-04T08:54:01.475-05:00You're right, Kathy. I'm making a point now to write some of these down for my children, so they understand where they came from. I love your story of your mother's paper Santa and your Barbie. So precious because they're ties to those we love. I can remember in junior high making all these ornaments for my mother's flocked Christmas tree out of felt, beads, and sequins, in particular, an owl. But the ornament she held most near and dear was a paper Santa from her youth. It was in tatters when I was a child yet she still lovingly put it on the tree every year. I put a Barbie red satin red coat with white rabbit fur trim on my tree every year that my mother made for me.
For years, I have collected Christmas ornaments because you see, each ornament holds a story. To have you share yours reminded me just how many little stories I have on my tree. And you know that for me this year, it is all about the story. Let us celebrate Christ's birth by remembering the story.
Love,
katKathy L. It is silver with red and green lines inbetween the silver rolls. Christmas was the best holiday celebration at our house and this ornament was always on the tree. When Mother moved from her house, my sisters and I each got on of these ornaments. Fortunately, there were 3 of them. I have a gold metal stylized Christmas where I display it each year with other old ornaments from years past. As I age, I get more nostalgic about things. I think it is a perk of aging to have these fond memories of days long gone.

Thanks for sharing Rudolph with us. Have a great Christmas season. Say a little prayer for me then tip a glass of wine for me.

Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas.

bevAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6316617410436977874.post-59623491525161253242010-12-03T10:14:42.548-05:002010-12-03T10:14:42.548-05:00I really loved reading this.
