A Woman's Point of View

Where in the world is WCI contributor R. Stephanie Good today? Earlier, she appeared in New York on FOX's "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet" as a prelude to the big event this evening. (Drumroll, please . . .) Tonight is the premiere of a documentary about Stephanie's work with the FBI. "Exposed" will air at 10:00 EDT as part the WE TV (Women's Entertainment Television) series "Secret Lives of Women." Produced by CBS, the film was inspired by Stephanie's book EXPOSED: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators. Last week, the attorney and New York Times best-selling author received a Community Leadership Award from CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) in New York. Check out profiles on Stephanie published today in Newsday as well as the New York Daily News. Tonight, her view will be the documentary on screen. You can share Stephanie's view. Every now and then, we share with readers views of contributors when they're not tethered to their computers. Women in Crime Ink's R. Stephanie Good (pictured left) has quite a view today. The attorney and New York Times best-selling author is a 2008 CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) Community Leadership Award Honoree at the Spring Luncheon. CAPS is recognizing Stephanie today in New York for her work with the FBI in identifying and assisting in the prosecution of Internet sex predators who prey on children. Stephanie shares this honor with Abigail Disney, President/Founder of the Daphne Foundation. Congratulations, Stephanie. Enjoy the view.

Just because we're Women in Crime Ink doesn't mean we stay in front of our computers all the time. Far from it. Here's today's point of view from contributor Diane Fanning--and it's not her screen saver:

Where in the world is Diane? She's a featured author at the Best Southwest Bookfest in Texas. Thursday night, Diane participated in a panel entitled "Booked on Crime: Working Together for Justice." Fellow panelists included UT Professor Dr. John W. Stickels of the Innocence Project of Texas . . . Kerry Max Cook, author of Chasing Justice: My Story About Freeing Myself After Two Decades on Death Row . . . and Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins.

The panelists spoke on their work with the wrongfully convicted and what can be done to bring justice to those failed by our system. The motto of the Innocence Project is "Justice is truth in action." We're proud to have one of our contributors participating in that action.

The conference is open to the public. Events through Saturday.
